Dan Marion is the Director of Defense Strategy & Business Development at Illumination Works, where he aligns the company’s differentiated, AI-enabled offerings with defense mission priorities to support long-term growth. With more than 30 years of experience across strategy, operations, and business development, Dan helps government organizations apply data and technology to address complex mission challenges.

Prior to joining ILW, Dan provided strategic leadership for SBIR growth initiatives, overseeing market intelligence, contracting strategy, and Phase III SBIR programs. He also held multiple executive leadership roles where he helped drive a 30% compound annual growth rate, positioning the organization for a successful acquisition.

Earlier in his career, Dan spent 17 years leading IT, analytics, logistics, and finance programs for major aerospace and defense clients, the U.S. Department of Defense, and allied defense ministries. He began his professional career as a U.S. Air Force logistics officer, developing a foundation in operational execution and supply chain management.
