Janette Steets, Ph.D., is the Associate Vice President of the Defense Division at Illumination Works. Janette joined ILW in 2018 and brings over 20 years of experience in scientific research and data science and over 7 years in supporting and leading defense-related projects. Janette is a strong advocate for ILW innovation and her strategic vision and commitment to excellence have been a driving force in the development of numerous transformational, AI-enabled solutions to realize efficiency gains for our clients.

Outside of work, Janette loves spending time with her amazing husband, son, daughter, and dog. She is a proud mother who adores supporting her children during their academic and extracurricular activities, including Irish dance, cross country, track and field, and scouting. As a family unit, they enjoy cycling, hiking, playing board games, and cooking together. Janette also appreciates quiet walks and runs on her own, which affords her some time to process ideas.
