Illumination Works, a leading provider of user-centric digital transformation, is proud to announce the promotion of Jan Turkelson to Senior Vice President. In her new senior executive role, Jan will play a crucial role in the organization’s leadership including formulation and implementation of vision, strategy, client engagement, culture and talent development, market expansion, and continued growth of the Government Division.
Proven High-Quality Results
Jan has been a visionary leader at Illumination Works (ILW) for nearly 10 years. With over 20 years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD) data and systems, Jan is dedicated to high quality results, data innovation, and helping her clients successfully tackle their most challenging strategic and technical visions.
Revenue/Personnel Growth. Jan’s exceptional leadership style has driven significant positive change throughout the organization. Under her direction, our Government Division has grown its revenue by 90%, expanded its team twofold, and established a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and trust.
Market Expansion. Jan’s team has expanded ILW’s data engineering, data science, and data visualization offerings across the DoD to include Air Force growth into the intelligence and nuclear weapons domains and data innovation projects with the Army and the Navy.
I have had the privilege to know and work with Jan for over 20 years. She is the one of the brightest and hardest working people I have ever met. I’m very excited for Jan and this next chapter at ILW.
Jan is one of those rare individuals who really can do it all. I would rank her among the top three individuals I have had the pleasure of working with in over forty years in this business. As we grow our company and expand into new markets, Jan’s steady leadership and attention to details will continue to be a key factor in our success!
Prime Contracts. Under her guidance, Jan’s team has propelled the Government Division forward from providing subcontractor support to successfully executing as a prime contractor. In 2019, ILW became one of 19 vendors on the $13.4B SBEAS indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ), and in 2023, was awarded a 5-year, $50 million Data Analytics as a Service (DAaaS) SBIR Phase III IDIQ for which two task orders are underway with more on the horizon.
Innovation. Jan’s team broke the code on innovation in 2019 with ILW’s first SBIR award. Since then, ILW has been awarded 10 Phase I SBIRs, 8 Phase II SBIRs, and our first Phase III IDIQ, with more awards pending. Our SBIRs have resulted in five ILW artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data solutions:
