The Air Force faces the challenge of timely and consistent evaluation of vendor information during acquisition and contracting processes. The current process is time/effort intensive, with minimal automation or technology to assist personnel resulting in failure to deliver at the speed of need, misalignment, errors, and inconsistencies.
Innovative Solution
Illumination Works is advancing a suite of tools to improve efficiencies and automatically extract information from vendor documents relevant to price negotiations, generate summary information, and produce a price memorandum for contracting personnel to review, edit, and disseminate. Illumination Works is incorporating generative AI (GenAI) techniques, automating the generation of the price negotiation memorandum. The software will handle a wide variety of layouts used by vendors across different types of contracts, seamlessly pulling critical information. Contracting personnel will be able to access this information, related analyses, and AI-generated content in different formats such as MS Word, MS Excel, or PDF. The solution will be capable of integrating all aspects of the price negotiation process―vendor price review, Air Force objective price determination, vendor negotiation, review and finalization.
